Ten minutes from us is the Kauri Bushman's Reserve. It's one place very few of the tourists ever bother going too probably because it's off the beaten track and down a rough gravel road. Here's one of the many photos I took during my last visit there earlier this year
Sometimes the best places to visit are down off the beaten track and down the rough gravel road. Very neat tree!

Ditto Jennifer! I would love that tree in my flower garden I'm planting next year...how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have an entire bush full of them. Trouble is with those ones they don't like being moved. Otherwise I'd package some up and send em over!!! Trouble is the biosecurity people might do me for smuugling native plants or something like that!!. Probably you can get them over in the US. I know you guys have some beautiful tree fern species as well. (Can't you tell I read too many National Geographics!!)
ReplyDeleteWhere in Paparoa is it?
ReplyDeleteDrive just out of Paparoa heading towards Matakohe on your right is Sterling Rd. Turn there and head right down towards the end of the road. It's lovely. Took heaps of really great photos there in May. Nice easy walk for the kids too. Check it out one weekend.
