  2. Yum....that sounds like a really good idea. I'll have to get my surfcaster out and get down to Batley to catch some Kahawai

  3. Is that fish with the bones taken out? I ask because while the adult me likes fish a lot, usually cooked but raw can be yummy-as, the kiddie-me still remembers horror-story fish fingers where you're happily munching away one minute, and pulling out bits of bone from between the teeth (or worse) the next.

  4. Yes Ice take the bones out definitely - otherwise not a good scene. Cube it up without mr bones to get in the way there. Heck now I think I won't be eating anymore fish fingers!!!!LOL

  5. I haven't had any problems with fish-fingers since, but then again I rarely buy fish fingers. Probably hard-wired not to.

Picked up a bone once from a piece of terakihi at LJS a few weeks ago -- I almost felt betrayed! That was a oncer, though.

When I was little, fish to me seemed tasteless. It wasn't my favourite dish. Then, I discovered sauces, like tartare. Now I can eat fish with or without a little taste help, it's nice stuff.

I think I've had raw fish before now. Can't remember who with (I don't trust myself in preparing anything like that that would be edible, food preparation and me just don't gel, you know that) but I enjoyed it. At least that's what the note in my mental file says.

  6. As I recall that was a certain trip down to Thames several years back? And it was gorgeous she did a wonderful job of it. You know who I am meaning. fish fingers still taste - like nothing but tartare sauce and thousand island dressing is jus yum.

  7. Bliss is some terakihi and potato fritters from the takeaway around the corner, and an open jar of tartare for dipping.

Might treat myself tomorrow when I get back, before the election craziness takes hold.
