Rain Finally! And other things that go on in life

And life continues I suppose. We've been roasting for day after day and slowly but surely my cabbage trees have been showing signs of stress from the lack of moisture. Now I have piles of dead leaves I have to clear up along with my weeds as well. Spraying didn't work because there was no rain for the weeds to suck up along with the glyphosphate I'd sprayed on them. I dread next spring. I'll be out there a lot with the sprayer..groan. But finally we have had rain - it's so badly needed. The pasture has been so dry and slow to grow. I'm glad I don't have too many animals or I would have been in serious trouble feed wise. Lucky I still have hay here.

Meantime as usual we have the chickens going broody yet again and being pains in the rear. Maggie came inside the other day while my back was turned and left her calling card on my carpet. Wonderful - not. Yesterday her and Feather had a big scrap over a hunk of bread I had given them.

Then next thing I know Sasquatch and Dream decided to have a go at each other and my trusty old Tellus vacuum cleaner as well. So I turned it on - that fixed them. And I paid the price of course by being clawed in the leg by his evilness.

Meantime while I was doing some research on other stuff I came across some wonderful images from the Flickr Commons site. Old farming photos I just love and other stuff too.
I love this one this is from the New York Tribune of country children. Well I had better go and do something such as preventing an innocent carrot from being murdered by a mad chicken maybe? Anyway check out the Flickr Commons site well worth a look. I love it.
